Romance of the Three Kingdoms is probably one of the greatest (if not the greatest) pieces of historical fiction ever written. It has the equivalent appeal of the Iliad and Odyssey in Western Culture.

Written by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th century, is a Chinese historical novel based upon events in the turbulent years near the end of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms era of China, starting in 169 and ending with the reunification of the land in 280.

All these years, LAI KA-KA (Liza Wang) has been looking after her family well. Both her husband CHU KOT HO (Ha Yu) and her eldest son CHU KOT CHING (Kevin Cheng) look up to her as their temporal and spiritual leader. Although KA is resolute in her belief that she has the best plans for her family, CHING secretly invests in a domestic cleaning agency without consulting her mother. When KA finds out, they have a terrible quarrel.

Suddenly, CHING's business partner KEI WING-FAT (Raymond Cho) disappears all of a sudden and puts him at substantial risk of bankruptcy. He has no choice but to run to KA for help. CHING immediately arranges for the whole family to share the work, hoping that this would help him out of crisis. Due to manpower shortages, CHING decides to hire FAT's girlfriend TUNG KAM-PO (Bernice Liu) as a temporary worker and later even falls in love with her.

On the other hand, KA's daughter CHU KOT YUNG (Mandy Wong) has been dating a married man TONG SHAU-LAI (Vincent Wong) while her youngest twin boys have spent too much time messing around with girls rather than concentrating on their studies.

All these recent happenings have sparked tension between KA and her children, causing a series of family rifts. Can they overcome their problems and maintain their family ties?

The action-packed costume drama series is headlined by Hong Kong stars Adam Cheng, Niki Chow, and Deep Ng, with the support of Mainland actor Qiao Zhenyu (The Spirit of the Sword) and Taiwan actor Liu De Kai (The Legend and the Hero). The legendary Adam Cheng got his major break as an actor in the 1976 TVB version of The Book and the Sword playing three lead roles (Chan Ka Lok, Emperor Qianlong, and Fu Kang An). This time, he reprises his role as Qianlong. Qiao Zhenyu replaces him in the pivotal role of Chan Ka Lok, who leads his Red Flower Society heroes in the rebellion against the Qing Empire. Chan and Qianlong both fall in love with a tribal princess, and more complications arise with the shocking revelation of the rivals’ true identities. Legendary TV actor Adam Cheng (ZU, WARRIORs FROM THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN) reprises the role that made him famous in this exciting new adaptation of the popular martial arts by Louis Cha (aka Chin Yung)!
